Q: How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions can only be estimated realistically after seeing the tattoo in person. It depends on the character of the pigment, how much there is and how deep it sits, the colours, how the tattoo was done and how your body responds. At the free consultation I will explain what to expect in your particular case.

Q: What are the intervals between sessions?

Sessions are usually spaced roughly 6 to 8 weeks apart. During that time the body gradually clears the broken-down pigment and the skin has room to recover. I set the exact interval according to the area treated, the skin's response and how the healing goes.

Q: Can coloured tattoos be removed too?

Yes, coloured and multi-coloured tattoos can be treated. Individual colours respond to the laser differently, so removing them can be more demanding and take more sessions. At the consultation I assess the specific pigments and tell you what is realistic in your case.

Q: Will there be a scar afterwards?

The aim of the treatment is to break down the pigment while disturbing the surrounding tissue as little as possible. The risk of scarring also depends on the condition of the skin, the original tattoo, how the skin responds and the aftercare. That is why I always assess the condition of the skin in the tattooed area beforehand.

Q: How long does the skin take to heal and how should I care for it?

Right after the treatment the skin can be red, sensitive or slightly swollen. Surface signs usually subside over several days, while the regeneration itself continues for longer. After the treatment you get precise home-care instructions, including sun protection and what to avoid while it heals.

Q: Do I have to have my PMU removed completely?

No. A common reason for a visit is simply lightening the old pigment before new permanent make-up is applied, so the new work starts from a clean base. I adapt the approach to whether you want the PMU removed completely or only lightened.

Q: Is the studio approved by the public health authority?

Yes. The studio is approved by the Regional Public Health Authority (RÚVZ) and I carry out treatments in line with the requirements for this type of premises.

Why picosecond technology

Picosecond technology works with extremely short pulses that break the pigment into very small particles. Compared with older nanosecond technologies it relies more on the photoacoustic effect and puts less heat load on the surrounding tissue. The body then processes the fragmented pigment gradually, through its natural processes.

The cooling that makes the difference

Comfort during laser removal matters to me as much as the technology itself. That is why every treatment uses active cryo cooling, which cools the skin while the laser works and helps reduce discomfort during the procedure. Cryo cooling is a standard part of the treatment, not a paid extra.

I work with MediSwiss pico laser technology and active cryo cooling for greater comfort during treatment. I treat black, coloured and layered tattoos.

You do not have to want the tattoo gone completely. If you are planning a cover-up, the pigment only needs to be lightened enough to give your tattoo artist a cleaner base. That is a common reason clients come in.

I will not promise that every tattoo disappears in an exact number of sessions. It depends on the character of the pigment, how much there is and how deep it sits, the colours, how the tattoo was done and how your body responds. You get a realistic plan at the consultation, once I see the tattoo in person.

Removal or lightening of permanent make-up on brows and lips. I adapt the procedure to the type and colour of the pigment, and active cryo cooling is included.

You do not have to want the PMU gone completely. A common reason for a visit is lightening the old pigment before new permanent make-up is applied, so the new work starts from a clean base.

Honestly: tattoo removal is not a one-session job. These are the real ranges I see most often in my work.

The figures are per session. Coloured pigment, dense shading and a larger filled area push the price towards the upper end of the range. Larger pieces can be split across several areas; I always confirm the exact price after seeing the tattoo.

Why a treatment at Skinova is more complete

A device on its own is not a treatment. In every protocol the device phase is only one part of the work. The skin is prepared and cleansed first, and after the main phase comes care chosen for what the skin needs that day: serum and regeneration phase, mask, soothing, protection. That is why I do not charge for 30 minutes at a machine, but for the whole protocol including everything that follows.
